Very occasionally you come across something that puts you in that super fan spot right away. Man of Booom did just that for me. When I came across their album snippet promo for Back To The Booom, I immediately started spamming my friendslist, but I wanted to wait for the actual release and have a full load of goodies to drop it here.
This is the 12-minute Making Of / Albumsnippet video; a job well done by Grizzly Adams.
Maybe it’s me snoozing but I’ve never heard their names drop before and a detail I noticed, being the computer nerd I am, they joined Facebook and Twitter only since last August. Next thing you know they’re dropping a full 21 track golden album, leaving me with the impression their works more than any deserve to be in our limelight.
Man of Booom is beatmaker Figub Brazlevič from Berlin, MC JuJu Rogers from New Orleans but residing in Schweinfurt and London-based MC Teknical Development. The international Hip Hop trio says to have their “roots in the golden era of honest and positive hiphop” and illustrated their love for the culture by describing the album as “a musical dedication to a culture and a state of mind that seemed to have been forever lost in the endless hallways of records companies and radio stations“. Exactly that which we always utter and aim for here at The Tika, they seem to be in on the mission.
The Back To The Booom double LP, accompanied with ill cover art by Agamy (directed by Krekpek) released on the German label Sichtexot Records and is available to add to your vinyl collection (it just keeps getting better right?) through HHV.de.
‘Till it hits your mailbox, you can stream and vibe to it right down here. Where the press release said “Man Of Booom brings it back”, I’d like to say it is initiatives like these that bring us forward as a honest and positive Hip Hop community. Keep it coming Man of Booooooooommmm!
